At Pen y Dre we pride ourselves on our strong relationships between parents and carers, our partner primary schools and ourselves.

There are six designated primary schools in Merthyr Tydfil who form the Pen y Dre cluster of schools. We work with these schools throughout the year, forming great relationships between staff, parents and teachers, allowing the transition between Primary and High School to be that much smoother for all students and parents.

Each year the school admits students from these primary schools, who are guaranteed a place at our school. In recent years there have been many applications from non- cluster primary schools.

Each year the school holds Open Mornings in September. Prospective parents from our partner primary schools and parents who are interested in what we offer are encouraged to attend.

To apply for a place at the school, parents need to complete our admissions form, available from the school or the LA.
