Mr Keith Maher took up the position of Headteacher at Pen y Dre High School in September 2012. Previously, he had been a middle and senior leader in schools both in England and Wales. The school has been on a continuous improvement journey since his appointment, with a relentless focus on developing our pupils into successful, happy and resilient individuals who are well equipped to take their place in wider society.

The school’s motto of Aspire Achieve Believe, developed by the student body, is the cornerstone of our work and sets the tone and purpose of school life. The school has grown in pupil numbers but remains at the heart of the local community. With a brand new, state of the art school being built from September 2022, the school community faces the future with optimism and confidence.
