Pen y Dre High School enjoyed record school performance in 2018. Our academic results across the performance measures are amongst the highest when compared to local, regional and national standards.

The core subjects of English, Maths and science achieved their best ever results in 2018 on the new key stage four curriculum.

Our foundation subjects excelled across the board. For example, 50% of Year 11 pupils who sat GCSE Religious Education or GCSE Second Language Welsh in 2018 achieved either an A* or an A grade.

All pupils now leave Pen y Dre High School with the qualifications needed for the world of work or further education.

Our strong academic and all round school performance is reflected in being categorised by Welsh Government as a GREEN A school for 2018-19.

Further information about the school can also be found in our ESTYN inspection report.
