AS & A Level Law

Been running since 1994 in PenYDre while maintaining a 99% pass rate

Areas studied in Year 12:
The English Legal System covering – juries, bail, Crown Prosecution Services, criminal & civil courts, role of magistrates & solicitors. 

Areas studied in Year 13:
Criminal processes covering – police procedures, criminal offences, sentencing, miscarriages of justice, juvenile crime. 

Assessment process – Exam led throughout course at regular intervals.  Preparation given through essay practice based on past papers. 

Key Skills opportunities: Communication Level 3, Improving Own Learning Level 3 & Performance Level 3. 

Visits & Speakers – Magistrate & Crown Court, Open Days, Crown Prosecution Service, European Conference, House of Lords Debate.
